First, let me say that I am very proud of this drawing, even though it might not be of sterling quality. During the summer of 2001 I checked out a book on drawing portraiture from the public library. That book has drastically changed the way I draw. It taught me how to shade, how to scope out shapes, and how to see the features for what they are. The book is "How to draw lifelike portraits from Photographs" by Lee Hammond, and I recommend it to everyone out there. The "Kaliara" pic was the last picture I did before this one, and I drew this an hour after I read the book cover to cover.

FYI, I drew this based on an old photograph of Errol Flynn, except I removed his moustache and lightened his hair a bit. He suddenly became Eirik D'Arany, a character in the "Rhiannon" story I talk about so much but never write on... *sigh*

2B pencils, tortillons, and a typewriter eraser for highlights.
