FaerieWings.net
-- Beverly is a great webdesigner, and her layouts are always so unique! The girl is a designing guru, and
you'll see that if you visit. That, and she's hosting my website. Explore her world.
ArwenArt.com
-- This is Arwen Bush's personal website. Not only is Arwen a friend,
but she is an amazingly talented artist; and I mean that wholeheartedly! Go
check out her art and find out for yourself.
Word-Hoard
-- A former professor(and friend)'s website. It is soon to become a reference site for Old English, Renaissance,
and African-American literature as well as a resource for students.
Jules' Homepage
-- If you're into Legend of Zelda fanfiction, you've probably heard of Jules' "Hero" or "Seer
of Kakariko" series. Not only does she put me to shame in writing, she's also a wildlife rehabber, hula dancer,
and wonderful lady!
Min Rho's Epilogue Gallery
-- I *LEARN* from Min's work. That tells you what sort of artist she is. Never one to be locked into one style, she! I know
half of the online artistic community shares that observation. She is an artist in the truest sense of the word.
LOZFFML FanWorks Archive
-- Jules and Lisa founded this mailing list / club for mature (18+) LOZ ficwriters and artists. This is a
convenient archive of all the ML members' fics. I guarantee that you will find a portion of the best LOZ fic on the web
at that site.
Meadowhaven
-- Homesite of Adele Sessler, a well known online writer and artist.
Elfwood Fantasy and Scifi Art
-- Elfwood is a springboard for lots of amateur fantasy artists and writers.
Epilogue Fantasy Art and Writing
-- Epilogue is another site similar to Elfwood but of somewhat higher quality!
PolyKarbon Anime Tutorials
-- I've learned a lot about drawing anime or CG art from this site.
Corbis.com
-- Corbis is a wonderful place to procure digital photography.
Full Moon Graphics
-- Site of the wonderfully wacky Miz Kitty, creator of wonderful free websets for webmasters just
starting out. I started out using a set from her, then branched out. Now I make my own.
Rhymezone
-- Write poetry? Need Rhymes/synonyms/antonyms/definitions? Here you go. I use it often.
| Webdesign Help & Resources |
Dynamic Drive
-- I can't stop lauding the virtues of Dynamic Drive; seriously, they ought to pay me for advertising. You want
cool javascript/DHTML on your website? Chances are, DD has a free one, and instructions on how to implement it!
Barebones Guide to html
-- The best HTML guide out there for people who know how to write HTML but forget the tags sometimes. Very simple, very helpful.
I use it often!
HTML with style Tutorials
-- Everything you wanted to know about HTML, with style. Gets deep into CSS and other important topics. Also
helps tell you what NOT to do. Very informative!
the site wizard
-- A ton of great hints, tips, javascripts, PHP scripts (awesome!), and other such web-design essentials.
Some great tutorials on domain names and hosts too! For those wanting to go big with a website, check them out.
HTML COLOR CODES
-- Absolutely invaluable. Gives a nice little chart of all websafe colors and their appropriate HTML hex values.
CSS Reference sheets
-- For those of us trying to learn cascading style sheets, here's a good place to start.
CSS Help
-- Another CSS help site - this one from Javascriptkit.com.
television without pity
-- Recaps of popular shows, with wit and snark. Sort of like listening to someone describe last night's show, in
detail, with their own opinions thrown in. Strangely addictive. I always go for "Trading Spaces" and
"ER" but I'll read the recaps of shows I don't even watch for the hilarity of the recappers, like American Idol.
the jane austen online Reading room
-- Whee!! Jane Austen's novels, online, unabridged. You can even read a chapter at a time if you like. I've linked to Pride
and Prejudice, but you'll be able to read Emma, Sense and Sensibility, and others.
cedar point
-- For one day a year, sometimes two, I fly, though not by my own power, but in the front seat of the
tallest, fastest, and steepest roller coasters in the world! Imagine a 310-foot drop at 80 degrees...
it's indescribable. Thrillseeker's paradise. Get to the point!
Scrubs
-- One of the best shows on TV, IMHO. I laugh for a solid half-hour. A great ensemble cast (John C. McGinley
and Zach Braff are unbeatable. And, Zach Braff looks like a cross between Tom Cavanaugh of Ed and David Duchovny...like
their little goofy brother. Tom Cavanaugh even had a guest spot AS his brother. So there.)
dvd easter eggs
-- There's just something about finding "hidden" surprises on DVD's. It's a reward for the
diligent. Moulin Rouge has one of the best DVD's for easter egg seekers, but for those who are too lazy
to look for them in other DVD's, check out this page.
The Mangler
-- Take a story file, or a webpage. Enter the URL in the box. Get a mangled version that is often HILARIOUS.
It's hard to explain... just go see!
trend Micro's Free Online VirusScan
-- I recommend this site to EVERYONE who does not own a virus scanner and is
online. You may have a virus and not know it. Use this to scan your system COMPLETELY FREE.
Weather.com
-- The weather channel's online presence. Being severely astrophobic (look it up), I can't live without it!
