She Danced

"I danced once in the dark for him,"
she said and looked away.
"A secret rhythm so fresh and free...
      foolish me!"
(Smoke lingers on her lips, a rotten cloud.)
"Do you think he'll come if I wait?"
She smiled brilliantly. 

You have not learned at all, I thought.
"You never trust me anyway, I say.
